USTA Florida Names Contractor, Reveals More Lake Nona Office Details

Posted on: August 30th, 2016

With Central Florida’s average annual temperature of 73.3 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s made for year-long outdoor sports, such as tennis. The USTA felt this way too, building their state-of-the-art USTA National campus in Lake Nona, Florida. Now, the USTA is providing details on their USTA Florida facility which will be adjacent to the national campus.

The $1.4 million headquarters for the U.S. Tennis Association’s Florida division now has a contractor — Precision Building Construction LLC in Orlando.

The company, which has done various medical, retail, office, industrial and hotel projects, will spearhead the development of the 10,000-square-foot building that will be home to USTA Florida’s operations. Construction on the building is expected to begin in September and be ready for a grand opening by spring 2017.

“The building will house USTA Florida’s more than 30 program and administrative staff, a large conference room, two huddle rooms, changing rooms with lockers, several restrooms and an outdoor covered patio. The lobby also will have a state-of-the-art, interactive media wall that will display information about tournaments, classes, membership, and bios of professional tennis players,” said a news release.

USTA Florida’s offices will be adjacent the USTA National campus that is bringing state-of-the-art tennis facilities to Lake Nona. That facility is expected to come online early next year.

The building will be an upgrade for the Florida operations, which currently work out of a 3,800-square-foot office in Daytona Beach. USTA Florida Executive Director Doug Booth previously told Orlando Business Journal the new offices will allow it to create up to 10 new jobs and improve its event hosting capabilities.

USTA Florida is a nonprofit with 40,000 members that hosts dozens of tennis events in Florida that generate economic impact for the host cities and hotel room nights from visiting players and their families. Sports events in Orlando are a huge piece of the overall $60 billion tourism and travel industry that welcomes more than 66 million visitors each year.
